Trump Praises Nvidia’s $500 Billion AI Supercomputer Pledge in the US

Washington, DC — April 10, 2025 — Former President Donald Trump has made headlines after he welcomed Nvidia’s massive investment commitment to build AI supercomputers in the United States. On the Truth Social platform, he called it “very big and exciting news,” and pledged to expedite all necessary permits to support the project.

Nvidia, the chip and artificial intelligence giant, has announced a plan to invest $500 billion over four years to develop a network of advanced AI servers right on US soil. The plan is part of a strategy to restructure its supply chain, reduce its dependence on Asia, and ride the wave of policies supporting domestic high-tech industries.

Bringing Manufacturing Back to the US
The focus of the project is on the production of a new generation of AI chips called Blackwell, which will be made at TSMC’s Phoenix, Arizona, facility. Nvidia is also working with manufacturing partners Foxconn and Wistron to deploy supercomputing centers in Texas, which are expected to be operational in the next 12 to 15 months.

The move marks a strategic shift, as Nvidia has relied heavily on manufacturing facilities in Taiwan. “Manufacturing in the US allows us to expand our capacity to meet the huge demand for AI chips, while strengthening the resilience and flexibility of our global supply chain,” said CEO Jensen Huang.

Politics and Tariff Policy: A Powerful Catalyst
Trump believes Nvidia has clear motivation to “repatriate manufacturing” ahead of the November 5 presidential election, along with upcoming changes in tariff policy. While the US has temporarily exempted some electronics imported from China from tariffs, the administration said new tariffs on imported chips will be announced next week.

This is seen as part of an effort to rebalance trade and protect consumers from inflation while strengthening national technological sovereignty – especially as AI becomes a core industry of the future.

Big Economic Impact and Investment Opportunity
This massive manufacturing project is expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs over the next decade, from technicians, engineers to high-skilled workers. According to some experts, Nvidia's decision could pave the way for a boom in domestic AI investment.

Meanwhile, investors are closely watching NVDA stock, wondering whether this is a "golden" time to invest. Investing.com's portfolio analysis AI models have consistently ranked NVDA as a high-potential stock, especially as Nvidia leads the global AI wave.
